This project focuses on assessing and addressing the behavioral health needs of African Americans in Fresno County through circle conversations, workshops, and education.
We offer program development, implementation, and evaluation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAAM) education to advance and advocate for racial justice and equity primarily for Black and Indigenous K-16 students. Through the George Washington Carver STEAAM collective of community and university (Fresno State) educators, we offer winter and summer academies. This project is in partnership with local K-20 educational agencies, businesses, and individuals.
Through the George Washington Carver STEAAM collective of community and university (Fresno State) educators, we have formed a collaborative with the African American Academic Acceleration (A4) Department at Fresno Unified and the Undergraduate Medical Education Department at UCSF-Fresno. We provide healthcare academies primarily for Black students in grades 7-16.
