Complaint and Refund Policy

Complaint and Refund Policy

Jewel of Justice Group is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists. Jewel of Justice Group will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of program participants.

Please submit all grievance and requests for refund, orally or in written format to karen@jewelofjustice.com. Please see actions below for your particular submission.

When a participant, either orally or in a written format, files a grievance and expects action on the complaint, the following actions will be taken:

  • Complaint Regarding a Speaker: If the complaint concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker, or the style of presentation, the individual filing the complaint will be asked to put his/her comments in written format. The CE Program Director will then pass on the comments to the speaker, assuring the confidentiality of the grieved individual.
  • Complaint Regarding a Workshop or Conference: If the complaint concerns a workshop offering, its content, level of presentation, or the facilities in which the workshop was offered, the CE Program Director will mediate and be the final arbitrator. If the participant requests action during a workshop or conference, the CE Program Director will attempt to resolve the issue in one of the following ways:
    • Attempt to move the participant to another presentation.
    • Provide credit for a subsequent presentation.
    • Provide partial or full refund of the registration fee.
      • Actions related to credits or refunds will require a written note, documenting the grievance, for record-keeping purposes. The note need not be signed by the grieved individual.
  • Complaint Regarding Business Practices: If the grievance concerns the business practices of the Jewel of Justice Group's CE program, in a specific regard, the CE Program Director will attempt to arbitrate.

Refund and Attendance Policy

  1. Refund Eligibility: Cancellations made 72 hours in advance or more are eligible for a refund after a $25.00 processing fee is deducted.
  2. Late Cancellations/No Show: Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance are not eligible for a refund. However, if the same presentation is offered again within six months, the individual may receive a voucher to participate in the subsequent session.
  3. Attendance Policy: To receive CE credits, participants must attend the entire workshop and complete the appropriate evaluation form. No partial credit will be granted for partial attendance. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credit.
